Scott-Woods Transport has developed a customized solution to move dry bulk goods more efficiently and cost-effectively than ever before. We call this design the “Tipper Chassis”. It is a custom built container chassis with a hydraulically operated tilting system which allows the container to be “tipped” on the trailer and the product dumped into either a gravity feed or a pneumatic offload system. In configurations ranging from 20 foot TEU singles, 40 foot TEU singles, and B-Train combinations (2 x 20 foot TEU), we have the equipment to handle your needs.
Advantages of this unique system in a domestic operation are the elimination of expensive bulk trailers/blowers, transload facilities, and the requirement to locate your facility on a rail spur to enjoy the benefits of transporting your bulk material on the railway.
In an international operation, the sea container (TEU) is the delivery unit to your ultimate customer. You can bulk load the container to maximize cube utilization (and thereby minimize cost) and the product can easily be fed into your customers’ system through a wide array of “connections” that Scott-Woods has designed to fit virtually any system.
